Meet the owner
At the heart of On Top Driving School is Royce Rodriguez, a dedicated family man and proud father of three who understands the value of safety, patience, and confidence behind the wheel. Born and raised on the East Side of Houston, Royce knows Channelview like the back of his hand, giving his students a true local advantage when it comes to navigating the roads and preparing for their driving test. With over five years of experience in driving education, he’s built a reputation for helping students feel comfortable, capable, and ready to pass. When he’s not teaching, you’ll likely find him behind the wheel of his Charger Scat Pack, because for Royce, driving isn’t just a profession… it’s a passion.
Our Services

Our teen program covers everything needed to get fully licensed. We guide students through the required course portion, assist with permit testing, and provide behind-the-wheel practice to build real driving experience. Once students have held their permit for the required time, we also prepare them for and administer the road test when they are eligible, whether that’s at 16+ or once they turn 18.

We offer flexible options for adult drivers at every stage. For first-time drivers, we assist with permit testing and provide the required 6-hour course when needed, including for license suspensions. We also offer behind-the-wheel practice for those with a permit and road testing services to help you complete the process with confidence.

Our defensive driving course is designed to help drivers improve safety, reduce risk, and meet court or insurance requirements. We also offer convenient road testing services for drivers of all ages, making it easy to complete your test in a familiar and supportive environment.
