Adult Road test
Requirements for Adult Road Test
Valid Texas Driver License (Restriction B)
Adults (18+) must have a valid Texas Drivers License or Learner’s Permit with a Restriction B (meaning the driver must be accompanied by a licensed adult 21+ in the front seat).
Temporary paper permit is accepted while valid (expiration is found above the picture of temporary permit).
Driver’s Ed Final Certificate (18-24)
DE-964 if you took the course before turning 18
ADE-1317 if you are aged 18-24
This drivers ed certificate can be from any Driving school online or in person. It must be labeled “For Driver License Only” not for Learners Permit and transfer box cannot be checked.
The Certificate must be signed by the course instructor not left blank.
Impact Texas Adult Drivers Certificate (ITAD)
This certificate is a free video provided and required by the DPS. The student must watch the entire video, answer the questions, and print out the certificate. Certificate expires after 3 months and must be rewatched before attempting the Road Test.

Vehicle for Road Test
In order to use your own vehicle, it must pass an assessment to ensure it is safe and can be legally operated on public roadways. It also must have valid insurance.
You can use the school vehicle for an additional cost.
